Tile & Grout Cleaning

Detailed work on tile and the grout lines between it.

What it is

Grout is porous, which is why it holds dirt long after the tile beside it looks clean, and why it is usually the reason a tiled room reads as dirty. This service is slow, detailed work along those lines and across the tile, with the method chosen for the material.

What is usually included

Scope is agreed between you and the cleaner, so treat this as the shape of the job rather than a contract. Anything you need that is not here belongs in your request notes.

  • Cleaning of the tile surface
  • Detailed work along grout lines
  • Removal of surface dirt, soap residue and film
  • Bathroom tile, including shower walls and enclosures
  • Kitchen tile and splashbacks
  • Tiled floors where applicable
  • Corners, edges and the joins along fixtures
  • A method appropriate to the tile and grout

When people ask for it

  • Showers with darkened or discoloured grout
  • Kitchen splashbacks with cooking residue
  • Tiled floors that stay dull after mopping
  • A tiled room being prepared for guests or handover

What happens after you send the request

You describe the job

Your ZIP code, the property details, the day you want and anything specific. It takes a couple of minutes and costs nothing.

It reaches cleaners near you

Only professionals whose service area covers your ZIP, who offer this type of cleaning, and whose ID has been approved by our team.

One of them replies

The first available cleaner takes the request and a conversation opens, where you can ask about scope, timing and price.

You accept or decline

Look at their profile and rating, then decide. If you decline, the request goes back out to another cleaner automatically.

You pay the cleaner directly

Requesting costs you nothing. The price is what you and the cleaner agree, and it is paid to them, not to Verliks.

Worth having ready

Say which rooms and roughly how much tiled area, and what the tile is: ceramic, porcelain, or natural stone. Stone matters, because acidic products that work on ceramic will etch marble or travertine. Photos of the worst grout lines set expectations better than any description.

Questions about tile & grout cleaning

Will the grout go back to its original colour?

Often it improves a great deal, but not always all the way. Grout that is stained through, or that has been sealed with dirt underneath, can stay discoloured β€” at which point the answer is regrouting or colour sealing, which is a different trade.

Can mould be removed?

Surface mould on tile and grout usually cleans up. Mould growing behind the tile or in failed silicone is a different matter, and it tends to come back until the silicone is replaced or the damp cause is dealt with.

How much does this cost?

There is no fixed price. It depends on the property, its condition, the scope, your location and the professional. The cleaner who takes your request discusses it with you in the conversation, before anything is booked.

Can I ask for a specific cleaner?

Yes. You can send a request straight to a professional whose profile you have seen, and it goes to them rather than into the general matching. If they are not available, the request falls back to cleaners near you.

Does every cleaner offer this service?

No. Each professional lists the types of cleaning they take on, and requests are only matched to cleaners who offer this one and who cover your area.

Can I add extra work to the request?

Describe it in the notes when you send the request. The cleaner confirms in the conversation what they include and whether the extra work is something they can do.
